Another short entry because I need some advice. I bought a piece of tack from a FB friend four weeks ago. It's not someone I've met in person, but a friend of a friend situation and this person also runs a tack page on FB. We communicated back and forth the day I bought it, and I paid promptly. The seller told me she sometimes was a little slow to ship, but that she'd sold quite a few items so hopefully she'd have everything out in a few days. That was fine with me, I wasn't on a specific time frame.
A week later, I nicely checked in to see if she had a tracking number for me. She said no, but that she'd let me know when she shipped.
At three weeks, I checked in again (nicely), and asked for an estimated ship date. No response. And the handy FB message center showed me when she read the message.
Yesterday was four weeks, so I sent a polite message reminding her that it had been a month since my purchase and that I'd been patient, but that I needed the tack shipped or a refund. I'd rather have the tack, but I'm starting to think that's a lost cause. Again, read but no reply. This person has continued to be active posting things on FB, so I know she's seen the messages.
I also sent an email through PayPal to cover all my bases. I don't want to start an official PayPal "dispute" because again, I'd rather have the tack than a refund.
At what point (if any) would you make this public, if you were in my shoes? I've considered a bevy of actions including leaving a 1 star review with an abbreviation of the events on her tack page, posting something on my page and tagging her, commenting on her personal page, posting her information in a "bad tack sellers" group, etc.
I understand that we all get busy and have stuff going on, but a month is pretty ridiculous, especially when you can have flat rate boxes delivered to your house and print shipping labels online. I would also be a lot less angry if she would just respond to me and try to make it right, but the radio silence is really pushing my buttons. I really don't want to burn bridges (especially since she has more tack I'd like to purchase), but am I unreasonable in thinking this situation is ridiculous? What would you do?
